Frequently Asked Questions
What would I do as a volunteer?
There are many options that you can sign up for as a volunteer below are a few of the options available with their description:
- This position requires extensive professional experience as a photographer. Requires multiple high-resolution (we prefer 300 dpi) shots per child for publication in .jpeg format (web site, print fliers, large posters, etc).
- This position requires the ability to cut and style all types of children/teens hair (a high need for skill in African American/curly hair) at the shoot, in addition to bringing your own supplies.
- Guides are responsible for escorting the children while they are at the photo shoot and for completing the biography questionnaire with the child. There are two Guides assigned to each child.
- The space must accommodate 125 people with aesthetically pleasing indoor/outdoor areas for photography. Recent venues include Desert Botanical Garden and the MIM.
- Help promote foster care and adoption by showcasing the Mobile Gallery at your office! The Children’s "Mobile Gallery" is a traveling exhibit that helps promote foster care, adoption and permanent connections. What's Included? There are 2 TVs attached. The TVs play a video interview with a child and photos of children that are awaiting their forever homes. It’s 13’ long by 8’ high. It does require full electricity. The Children’s Heart Gallery team sets up and breaks down the exhibit. Request a mobile gallery.

Can I meet a child who is featured in the gallery now?
If you are interested in a child on the gallery, please fill out the inquiry form for that child by clicking on their photo. It is more likely the children who have not been photographed would be in attendance at an upcoming event.
Do the children understand this is an event to promote adoption?
