Carmen
Meet Carmen! Carmen is a unique and spunky teenager who is ready to find her adoptive home. Carmen is sweet and compassionate and can be a loving addition to your family. Carmen does well with one-on-one attention and will thrive with a family that is able to provide that supervision to her.
Carmen is unable to communicate with words, but is progressing immensely with sign language and other forms of communication. Carmen will tell you when she is unhappy and has a distinct way to express her emotions. Carmen will use pointing and grunting sounds to tell you what she wants and also does very well with using communication cards in the classroom. Carmen does great with routine and genuinely enjoys going to school. She does well with getting up in the morning and likes to get dressed for her day. Give Carmen a tablet or a big plate of Panda Express and she will be your best friend!
Carmen is one to like physical touch and will often seek safety and reassurance from her caregivers by asking them to scratch her arm. This is a strong sign of connection for Carmen and if she feels safe and comfortable around you, then this is something you will be lucky to experience with her.
Carmen would do best in a home that has the time and patience to give her the supervision and support she needs. Carmen will do great in a family setting and does well with older siblings.
Carmen was born in 2010.
